SUCCESS STORIES

Todd Davisson

Manager, Purchasing & Assets

NPL’s “Jack-of-All-Trades,” Todd Davisson has 11 different positions and three decades under his belt at NPL. Undoubtedly, he has one of the most prolific NPL careers on record.

Starting in ’82 as a laborer (as most NPL employees do), Todd’s been able to craft his career for two reasons.

One, he has an incredible work ethic and has always worked very hard.

Two, he never stops learning. “I just want a greater perspective about the company I work for, and the natural gas industry altogether. It all started because I wanted to see how different operations functioned, what their different needs were . . . and just understand how things worked.”

With such extensive experience, Todd is certainly the person to ask: What does it take to succeed at NPL?

“Well, to be successful at NPL, you don’t have to be a ‘rocket scientist’,” he deadpans from behind his desk.

“However, you do have to possess two simple things that several people don’t have. One, you have to work hard. Two, you have to want to learn and then learn as much as you can. If you do those two things, you will find a substantial, stable career at NPL.”

NPL’s culture, however, is what Todd finds especially relevant to new employees.

“Knowing that NPL has my best interest at heart is definitely what keeps me motivated. We have good people from top to bottom. When a company treats its employees as its most valuable asset, it breeds the culture and workforce we have today.”
